About 2,000 Batch A 2019 corps members opened businesses in Lagos during their service year.

Speaking during the Passing Out Parade (POP) for the 5.698 Batch A 2019 corps members posted to Lagos, the Lagos State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, Mr Eddy Megwa, praised them for impacting the society positively.

He said the scheme was also impactful on their lives through its entrepreneurship training.

“I congratulate you for successfully impacting society. The 2019 Batch A corps members were trained in skills acquisition and over 2,000 have become business owners. They will remain in Lagos to continue their businesses.” he said.

Megwa said three corps members from the batch died during the year in review and asked the parade to observe a minute silence in their honour.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Relations, Dr. Yusuf Jimoh, praised the corps members for their contribution to the country’s economy.
